Asphalt Roller Operator
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Roller Operator to compact asphalt surfaces to ensure proper density, smoothness, and durability of asphalt according to project specifications and safety standards. The role involves coordinating with the crew, monitoring material conditions, adjusting machine settings, and performing routine inspections and maintenance to ensure consistent results on all projects. Attention to detail, knowledge of compaction techniques, and adherence to safety regulations are essential to produce high-quality, long lasting asphalt surfaces.
Responsibilites

Equipment Operation: Operates steel-wheeled or rubber-tired rollers (breakdown, intermediate, or finish rollers) to achieve specified compaction and smoothness.

Compaction Management: Monitors mat temperature and adjusts vibration frequency, amplitude, and speed to meet density requirements.

Surface Quality: Eliminates low spots, eliminates roller marks, and ensures even, consistent pavement density.

Maintenance: Performs daily safety checks, routine maintenance (fueling, greasing, cleaning drums), and reports mechanical issues.

Coordination: Works closely with the paver operator, foreman, and crew, using hand signals to ensure precise, efficient, and safe operation.
